Today was our last meeting. We broke down the MoonBots field and split it up to take home. We finalized our robot in Lego Digital Designer and we finished our STEM outreach powerpoint. Now, Mrs. C just has to get everything posted!

Today we had our robot judging via skype. It was pretty cool. We didn't earn very many points, but we learned a lot along the way. Not too bad for a bunch of 9 and 10 year olds!
August 16, 2011
Yeah! Nick's dad got the bluetooth set up. That should make programming much easier since we were having to break our robot apart every time we changed the program.
August 15, 2011
Today we worked on our robot program and our STEM outreach powerpoint. Our robot is having some consistency problems. About half the time we are able to pick up helium and the other half of the time we aren't. We also go a bluetooth to transmit our program to the robot...but we haven't figured out how to set it up yet.

We're making some progress, but WOW is this challenge hard! We now have a facebook page so if you are a facebooker (is that a word?) come visit our page and "like" it. You have to put quotes around our team name to find us ("anthem-A-tronics"). Kevin put all of our outreach pictures together in one powerpoint slide show. He is some kind of powerpoint genius!

Its been a frustrating couple of days. Wishing we were on the real moon where we wouldn't have so many weight issues!
July 29, 2011
Today was our Outreach Project and it was AWESOME! We did two presentations at our library's LEGO Day. We demonstrated two robots -- a rattlesnake and a segway. We talked with kids about FLL, MoonBots and all the cool things we do. It was a lot of fun.
July 28, 2011
Special delivery today! Our suspension has arrived!
July 27, 2011
We are busy working on our outreach presentation. Looking forward to LEGO Day on Friday!
July 22, 2011
The wood works great! Kevin will be back from his vacation on Monday and then the work REALLY begins!
July 20, 2011
Minor setback. The location we set aside for our lunar surface is carpeted. The carpet is too "squishy". Mrs. C is going to get some snap-together laminate wood flooring and build us a wood base. She says this will be easier to store than plywood!
July 19, 2011
After a short break, we're back together for more building and more planning.
July 13, 2011
Building, building, buidling!
July 5, 2011
WOO-HOO! We were just named as finalists!
June 23, 2011
We finished our video! Mrs. C will put it on YouTube this weekend. We also finished our robot design proposal. Our robot is AWESOME!
June 22, 2011
Today we spent our whole meeting filming and editing. It was fun, but a lot of work!
June 21, 2011
Filming is going great and our robot design is really coming together.
June 20, 2011
After a week off, we're back to research and script writing. We are really making great progress.
June 9, 2011
Today we developed a new time-line for our video production. We're taking next week off for a pre-planned vacation.
June 8, 2011
We had planned a busy day of filming today and tomorrow, but we just got notified that the Phase I deadline has been extended to June 26th! So, we had a more relaxed day and worked on our robot design instead.
June 7, 2011
Research, research, research! We're making a lot of progress on our script and have already started to film some of our segments. We learned how to use Adobe Elements to produce our video.
June 6, 2011
Today we began working on our video script. We wrote the introduction and finished our team bio. We also did a lot of research.
June 2, 2011
Today we took team pictures. We also brainstormed different ideas for our robot. We are now officially registered with Moonbots!
June 1, 2011
Today we learned about "public domain" photographs and music. We talked about how to find pictures and music that we can use in our video essay. We also watched a movie about the universe.
May 31, 2011
Today we watched a movie about Nikola Tesla. We also began to narrow down our video essay topic.
May 18, 2011
We met today to talk about the Moonbots competition and decide if we want to participate. By unanimous vote...we are going to the moon!
